Getting started with WhatsApp in Kommo
How to start working with the unofficial WhatsApp integration in Kommo (amoCRM): reply inside the deal, message first, set up a chatbot, templates and mass chats.
The number is connected — what now? Below is a short path for your first day with the integration. Go through the blocks in order: the whole route takes about an hour, and after it your team can work with customers on WhatsApp entirely from Kommo (amoCRM).
1. Connect the number and test it
⏱️ 5 minutes
If the number is not connected yet, start here: you add it in the RadistWeb personal account by scanning a QR code, and then link the connection to your Kommo account.
Right after connecting, ask a colleague to write to your WhatsApp number. A contact and a deal appear in Kommo automatically, and the message lands in the deal — that means the integration works.
2. Learn how the deal works
⏱️ 10 minutes
Everything happens inside the deal card, so there is nothing extra for your managers to learn:
- an incoming message creates a contact and a deal in the stage you chose in the integration settings;
- any Kommo user can reply from the deal — the price does not depend on the number of managers;
- you can send files, photos, videos, documents, contacts and voice messages, and listen to the customer’s voice messages without downloading them;
- if the deal is deleted, the conversation stays in the contact card.
Prepare ready-made answers for your managers so they don’t type the same text over and over.
3. Message a customer first
⏱️ 5 minutes
To write to a customer from Kommo, open the deal, click the phone number in the contact card, choose the WhatsApp button, type your message and send it.
If your managers work from several numbers, connect them all to one Kommo account and choose which number to write from.
4. Automate the first reply
⏱️ 15 minutes
Automation saves the manager’s time and keeps customers from waiting. Two things are worth setting up at the very start: an automatic message when a deal is created, and a bot that answers around the clock.
5. Reach many customers at once
⏱️ 15 minutes
When you need to contact a whole list of customers, start the chats in bulk instead of opening every deal by hand. Before writing, it is worth checking whether the number is registered in WhatsApp at all — if it isn’t, the message will end up with an “Error” status.
6. Turn on group chats
⏱️ 5 minutes
If you discuss projects with a customer and contractors in one group, the group chat can be brought into Kommo as well. The feature is off by default and is available on the Standard plan.
